The Cascades

West on 138 from Roseburg (Exit 124) begins the climb to the magestic Cascades.  The skier on the left is cat skiing Mt. Bailey.

The Diamond Lake Resort is the hub for both winter and summer activities.  Winter sports include cross-country skiing, snow boarding, tubing, and riding snow mobiles.

Fishing is excellent in Diamond Lake and there are also patio boats, paddle boats, and bumper boats for rent.  Kayaking and canoeing are also popular on the lake.

If you care for on "off water" activity, mountain biking and horseback riding prove to be compelling.

A little further down the road from Diamond Lake lies the jewel of Oregon.  Crater Lake has long attracted the wonder and admiration of people all over the world.  Its depth of 1,943 feet (592 meters) makes it the deepest lake in the United States, and the seventh deepest in the world. Its fresh water is some of the clearest found anywhere in the world.
